GCA Journal
The GCA Journal is the official publication of the Garand Collectors Association. This full-color quarterly magazine grew from a humble newsletter in GCA’s early days. Today this striking publication contains articles from some of the most knowledgeable people alive today about John Garand’s superb M1 rifle and related topics, complete with color photographs and illustrations. All articles submitted for publication in the GCA Journal are peer-reviewed for accuracy and authenticity.
Each issue ranges from 36 pages to as many as 40 pages. When you consider that the GCA Journal does not accept display advertising, it means there is a lot of outstanding reading in every issue.
Within the pages are many outstanding articles that detail research about this fabulous weapon. There are several standing features, too. In each edition, there is a photo essay about an interesting M1 titled “Featured Rifle.” These describe the weapon and its uniqueness with text, photographs, and a completed M1 Data Sheet.
Another popular feature in each issue is titled M1 Member Memories. Here, GCA members submit photographs and short stories about their M1’s or a meaningful tie to the hobby. Many of the photographs are of family members and have never been previously published.
You can tell we are proud of our official publication, The GCA Journal. It is member-driven and contains the editorial content we like to read. Much of the information can not be found anywhere else. The GCA Journal is the chief member benefit in GCA and for $35 a year, it is a good value ($50 foreign).
